New Letterpress Business Card Designs

New letterpress business card designs have arrived today in the mail. They arrived just in time for WPPI!

As many of you know, I have a big passion for not only photography but design as well. For the last few years, a lot of my energy went into Muku Studios with my husband, and we have been so blessed to touch so many hearts with Muku in the design community. We have met so many people… everyone from organizations, design legends, college and high school students, professors and even the child sitting quietly somewhere with their crayons. David and I remember every one of you. Your phone calls, emails, holiday cards, crayon drawings, and many treasured conversations over dinner.

As design still continues to capture my heart, it was only natural to unite that love with my photography business branding. I was so blessed to find Cari Miemiko at Miemiko Atelier on Oahu. We had the opportunity to catch up just last week over the phone, and from there we created these gorgeous business cards together.

When you believe in something and put your faith into it, beautiful things can happen with dedicated people working together. Surround yourself with those who believe in the same thing as you do, and you will be surprised at what you can accomplish together.

Be sure to contact Cari Miemiko at Miemiko Atelier for some letterpress love.

Big mahalo to Mike Adrian for letting me shoot this beautiful wedding along his side. I always feel so honored to work with amazing photographers such as Mike Adrian.

There is a special joy in watching your friends say their vows.

I first met Dave a little over two years ago with his dog Kai at the Bark Park in Honolulu. I had just moved back to Hawaii, and it was our first day on the island. Since then, we had spent countless nights at the dog parks with Dave where our dogs would romp, bark and cause endless amounts of trouble at every opportunity possible.
Dave was there when we got our second dog as a puppy and introduced us to all of our most favorite and memorable hang out spots on Oahu. When we heard that Dave and Liz were moving to the mainland, our hearts were so broken. To top it off, Dave proposed to Liz just shortly before leaving, and were planning on getting married in Texas where they were moving to. You can imagine my reaction.

But out of the blue, I heard from them shortly after they moved to Texas. They broke the news that they decided to get married in Hawaii! I was spinning! My husband must have thought I was crazy when he saw me sigh with so much happiness in my heart. I not only had the chance to shoot their Engagement Session before they left Hawaii, but I would have the honor to witness these two say their vows here in Hawaii where they met and grew so closely together.

Liz and Dave (and Kai), thank you so much for all of the memories that you have given David and myself. Our hearts have been filled with so much joy and laughter from your friendship and we look forward to seeing you both grow closer together in your marriage for many amazing years to come.

Amanda and Geoff have know each other for almost all of their lives.

The two came to Hawaii from Canada with their friends and family to have their intimate ceremony at the Bayer Estate, located in Hawaii Kai, on Oahu.

With the special touches that Sooz and Debbie Hemingway have created in their collaboration for this wedding, there was an endless amount of beautifully details not only in the venue location, floral design, but in the story of this union.

Amanda and Geoff met in preschool. After going their separate ways, they met again in high school where they began dating in 11th grade in 2003. Geoff proposed to Amanda on December 24, 2008, on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. They came back to Oahu to get married on December 30, 2009, where they now share the same wedding anniversary day with Geoff’s grandparents who have now been married for 56 years. The ceremony location at the Hawaii Kai Bayer Estate had tables with picture frame centerpieces showing Geoff’s Grandparent’s on their wedding day 56 years ago, AND get this: there was even a picture showing Amanda and Geoff’s preschool class portraits where you can actually see the two of them standing next to each other among their classmates! My heart completely melted as I read each of the stories that you could find at the tables.

I can certainly say that throughout moments of this day, there was not a dry eye in the household because of how overwhelmed everyone was with joy for these two. I am such a softy myself, that from the beginning of the day I could tell that I needed to prepare myself with tissues in my pocket for the ceremony. I have to admit that I made use of each tissue. As important as it is to capture the story of these beautiful days, it is equally important to know when to put the camera down and just enjoy the moment for yourself as well.

Thank you Amanda and Geoff for the amazing gift that you have shared with me by allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. You have left an everlasting impression on not only my heart, but with all of those who have the pleasure of meeting you.

Casey and Tyler came all the way from Kentucky to get married at the Bayer Estate in Hawaii Kai. Their excitement and love for one another was not only sincere but contagious!

Shortly after the ceremony, these two lovebirds sneaked off to the exotic Big Island of Hawaii for their romantic honeymoon. This afternoon I had the pleasure to hear from them upon their return back home to Kentucky where they reported the weather to be a shivering 10 °F. Brrrrr!

Casey and Tyler, thank you for opening your hearts and sharing your love. May these images help warm your hearts and souls for a lifetime to come.
