The simple joys that babies find in life are so timeless…
Sitting around in your underwear. Watching the clouds pass by in the sky. Finding comfort in the sound of your loved one’s voice. Tickles. Goofy faces. Giggles and smiles. The more I think about it, I can see how I am not so different from these little ones. I too love to sit around at home in my underwear, making faces and giggling with my husband. That’s just between you and me though! {WinkWink}
It would be a natural reaction to assume that these images are of a man and his beloved dog. On the contrary, this is different.
Meet Danny and Puppet. Danny one day was dropping off his laundry at a local dry cleaner in town. As he was dropping off his clothes, he couldn’t help but to notice the little noises coming from the back room. Over small talk, Danny soon came to learn that the owner, Jen, had her dog with her in the back room. Jen brought out her dog and introduced Puppet to Danny. This dog was a fire ball of energy, yearning to be released from the room to explore the world outside.
Even though Danny did not have a dog, it was clear that he was a dog lover. He asks if he can help by taking out Puppet for the day to let her burn off some steam. Jen laughed, half joking with a response of “You can have her!” I really love how Danny still laughs as he tells this story.
Although Danny did not adopt her, he has since been taking Puppet out almost every evening. They go to the dog park, hiking, and Puppet hangs out with Danny during the day at home with him after he gets off from work. They keep each other balanced and at peace.
“Puppet has pretty much saved my life,” Danny firmly believes. Puppet has seen Danny through a series of emotional and health struggles. I identify with this so much because no matter what I have gone through, my own dogs have always been a constant source of love and support in my home whenever I most needed it myself. Through our animals we can learn about unconditional love and the therapy that comes with that gift.
It is my hope that I may one day understand how to love so unconditionally.

Amanda and Geoff’s Bayer Estate Wedding with Debbie Hemingway.
Amanda and Geoff have know each other for almost all of their lives.
The two came to Hawaii from Canada with their friends and family to have their intimate ceremony at the Bayer Estate, located in Hawaii Kai, on Oahu.
With the special touches that Sooz and Debbie Hemingway have created in their collaboration for this wedding, there was an endless amount of beautifully details not only in the venue location, floral design, but in the story of this union.
Amanda and Geoff met in preschool. After going their separate ways, they met again in high school where they began dating in 11th grade in 2003. Geoff proposed to Amanda on December 24, 2008, on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. They came back to Oahu to get married on December 30, 2009, where they now share the same wedding anniversary day with Geoff’s grandparents who have now been married for 56 years. The ceremony location at the Hawaii Kai Bayer Estate had tables with picture frame centerpieces showing Geoff’s Grandparent’s on their wedding day 56 years ago, AND get this: there was even a picture showing Amanda and Geoff’s preschool class portraits where you can actually see the two of them standing next to each other among their classmates! My heart completely melted as I read each of the stories that you could find at the tables.
I can certainly say that throughout moments of this day, there was not a dry eye in the household because of how overwhelmed everyone was with joy for these two. I am such a softy myself, that from the beginning of the day I could tell that I needed to prepare myself with tissues in my pocket for the ceremony. I have to admit that I made use of each tissue. As important as it is to capture the story of these beautiful days, it is equally important to know when to put the camera down and just enjoy the moment for yourself as well.
Thank you Amanda and Geoff for the amazing gift that you have shared with me by allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. You have left an everlasting impression on not only my heart, but with all of those who have the pleasure of meeting you.

Casey and Tyler came all the way from Kentucky to get married at the Bayer Estate in Hawaii Kai. Their excitement and love for one another was not only sincere but contagious!
Shortly after the ceremony, these two lovebirds sneaked off to the exotic Big Island of Hawaii for their romantic honeymoon. This afternoon I had the pleasure to hear from them upon their return back home to Kentucky where they reported the weather to be a shivering 10 °F. Brrrrr!

Meredith and Matthew’s wedding ceremony was private and intimate, and the reception was no exception either. The reception was held in the Library of the Koele Lodge at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai. Every detail was carefully considered.

Aloha my friends.
I am so proud and blessed to share with you these beautiful moments that I witnessed during the marriage of Meredith and Matthew at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai, at the Koele Lodge.
My journey to Lanai for this special celebration was captivated by true love, new friendships, adventure and beautiful emotions. The families came together from San Francisco and Australia to support these two joining together in their intimate wedding ceremony. It must be said: there is nothing like true love. I am not talking only about the love that exists between the two who are saying their vows, but also between all of the friends and family who give their most sincere blessing for the union. It is an unimaginable gift to observe.
